251 West 14th Street is located between Chelsea and the Meatpacking District, currently one of Manhattan’s most vibrant and trendy areas. The building will be a new 25,000 square foot, 11-story tower with a cantilevered penthouse over the adjacent building that will utilize special cantilever beams, creating a unique shape.
The façade of the building includes a mix of glass and exposed concrete.
Site logistics for this project are very challenging, with a very narrow site of 40 feet. Access to the site is also limited due to MTA Subway influence, with the shutdown of the L train, and reducing city traffic on the main cross-street.
