Mike Izzo joined Pizzarotti in October of 2016 as a Superintendent and has worked on several Pizzarotti projects over the past two years. In his current role as Senior Superintendent, Mike’s responsibilities include working with the trades to plan, coordinate and execute all daily construction operations, implementing systems to ensure proper work sequencing and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, among other day-to-day tasks.
Mike’s father worked in the construction industry, which allowed him to learn about the business at a young age. Mike always admired that his father was able to handle several tasks at one time and he enjoyed that the job was never boring. His father told him that the workers in the field are the backbone of the business and that it is important to treat them as family. That lesson stuck with Mike and he consistently implements that mentality at work. Mike had the incredible opportunity to work with his father on the Tri-Pak Hotels project on 39th Street. Mike says that he learned everything he knows about construction while working on that project.
Mike’s favorite Pizzarotti project to date has been the AC by Marriott Hotel at 151 Maiden Lane in Manhattan’s Financial District. Mike is proud to have had the opportunity to be part of the Pizzarotti team in the completion of what was the company’s first North American project. While working on the project, Mike particularity enjoyed collaborating with team members from other parts of the world.
The Pizzarotti team is grateful for Mike’s unwavering dedication and we are fortunate to have him as part of the team. We are excited to see how he continues to develop and grow his career.
